Some takeaways from PHD journey (1)

I spent almost 2 years to decide my Doctoral Degree, whatever the place, I want to extend my networking, gain knowledge, lean new the culture however I still have a chance to take care also my family. So I stepped my first entrance to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. At the beginning I had so many doubts and anxiety because I had no idea to go aboard. I also had terrible phobia of airplane but alhamdulillah all the professors and lecturer in here are very humble and welcomed me so much, so I get along very quickly and get used to learn new culture here. In my first semester of the journey, I learnt so many things like:

all the lecturers use active learning. I enjoyed their lecture include Research Methodology subject delivered by Prof Omar. Since I also teach that kind of subject, so I want to use the styel with my students. It is very helpful to us as the student to learn in a deep learning style which I also get the idea to apply it in my class once I get the degree later (aamiinn)

I met Dr Jamila Ahmad whom I respected so much, she’s not only taught us but also motivated us and gave valuable message, I remembered her words like: “What you give, you get back”, bring positive minds so other positive things will come to you, we only attract what we think.

Malaysian people are very helpful , they don’t hesitate to help the foreigner if they had troubles. So, I will also do the same with foreigner if they come to Indonesia.

that’s all the takeaways that I experience when I came to Malaysia last month. cant wait to visit again and see a lot of opportunity. 🙂
